Why is this stuff so hard to get right??? All my spacing gets jacked up whenever I add pictures...Anyone have any advice for this technologically challenged girl?

Sisterly Love

Another great weekend for the record books...

Friday night I got to see some sweet friends of mine who I haven't seen in a very long time! Jenny and Scott Duncan are two friends of mine from Mississippi State who moved to Memphis so Scott could start med school and Jenny could start optometry school. They are an incredible couple who I look up to immensely. It has been almost three years since they got married and have moved to Memphis, and Friday was the first time I have gotten to see her! Crazy how life just gets the best of us sometimes... Jenny wasn't going to be able to come to my shower on Saturday, so she and Scott came over to drop me a little happy. Very cute bathroom goodies! We will be neighbors soon, so hopefully we can do a better job to get to see each other more and spend some time together!
Early afternoon on Saturday, Mom and I headed to Jackson, TN for a shower some of dear Phi Mu friends threw for me. It was a much needed day together. Our close group of friends are scattered everywhere, so times where we can get together are few and far between :( We had a wonderful time stuffing our faces with delicious food and cake, catching up on each others' lives, and reminiscing on our crazy college days. Definitely provided for uncontrollable laughter!
Oh and I got some really cute gifts too...Can't forget about that!

Adorable Invite!
The Spread

Dangerous...

Love them all!

Momma, Springer, Me, Suzanne, Katie, Amber, Kimberly

The other man in my life...

Pretty platter from my hostesses-First monogrammed anything!
This makes me very excited and happy :)

Gorgeous McCarty pottery from my sweet little sis...The best part is, Kyle LOVES this stuff so hopefully he'll be okay with me spending money on it in the future!

ALL my towels from Mom...She's so cute! It's all in the details!

(Our colors are gray and yellow-the reason for the ribbon)

When it was time to leave, and I saw the time on the clock in the car, I was amazed at how long we sat and chatted. It's what we do best! We headed back to Memphis, and Suzanne and Kimberly decided to come stay for the night...So glad they did! The girls headed out to dinner at Majestic Grille downtown where we got into a little bit of mischief and then to Silly Goose for a few more hours of laughter!

Needless to say, I took a very long nap this afternoon :)

Wonderful weekend! Hard to believe I have to go back to work tomorrow.

Much needed prayers over the next two days please. Kyle takes boards the Monday and Tuesday. I have my first interview Tuesday night. The real world is sneaking up on us.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Shower Me

Mom, my Kyle, and I headed to Crossville Friday morning. But first we had to stop in Franklin so I could try on my dress!!!!! It was amazing! Okay, I know it's obnoxious when people constantly update their Facebook statuses to tell everyone every detail of their wedding planning process, so I haven't been doing that. But, it's my blog and I can go on and on if I choose :)

I haven't really felt like I am a "bridey bride" if that makes any sense. I don't know the proper names for things I have registered. I don't know the different fabrics that make up a wedding dress. I don't know the names of flowers and literally when people ask me what kind of flowers we are using I say, "Yellow." I don't know the difference between an American and French bustle. You get the idea.

But Friday, I felt like a bride!!! Once the dress was on, we added the veil, shoes, and earrings! I will tell you that my mom cried multiple times. She will tell you that I turned really red and started sweating. And this was not because I am nervous. It's because I really never thought this day would happen. I was at a point in my life where I was done. I was over dating. I thought God was telling me to be single for a while, so I just accepted it and was content in that. Well He was wanting me to be single so He could send my future husband my way. So Friday, for me, was more of a reminder of God's sovereignty and faithfulness. (And being in a gorgeous dress didn't hurt much either)

No pictures from that fun experience. You'll have to wait just three more months!!!

From there we headed to Crossville to spend the night, because some of the women at Kyle's home church were throwing us a shower Saturday morning. It was beautiful! I was amazed at how many great gifts we received and so blessed for all the wonderful words of encouragement, wisdom, and love that filled each card. We are beyond fortunate to have so many families surrounding us who are incredible examples of what a Christian marriage should look like and who will be there for us throughout our marriage as counselors, friends, encouragers, and role models. Just a few pictures:

The Spread- sooo yummy!
Just like Christmas (only better)
We had a discussion about breaking bows, and apparently he wasn't listening....
So now he will be cleaning toilets the rest of our marriage in exchange, muhahaha
Probably one of my favorite gifts from the day (now I just need to learn to sew)

Wonderful, wonderful hostesses who definitely know how to cook and host a shower!

And not to brag or anything (just kidding), but I was actually able to finish ALL of my thank you's yesterday. My hand is tired now...

The weekend fun is over and now it's time for bed. Start my LAST rotation tomorrow! It's unbelievable how in hindsight, three years flies. I never thought we would make it here this quickly. The future is fast approaching and as excited as I am, I am nervous as well. The job hunt has begun and my stomach is turning.

Hopefully this week will fly by because I get to see my amazing, sweet Phi Mu friends this Saturday in Jackson!!!!
Praying everyone has a wonderful week!

Welcome to Smashville!

Last week my brother (whose name is also Kyle) and I were fortunate enough to both have spring break! So he came to visit for the week and we got to spend some good brother-sister quality time together. He is 16 and a junior in high school (scary!!!) and is at that age where you have to give them something to do or else they will just sit in front of the tv and sleep all day. Also at the age where it's cool not to look at the camera for pictures (see below). He has played hockey for about 7 years or so now, and he currently plays for his high school team in Plano, Texas. So Tuesday night, Mom took brother Kyle, my Kyle, and myself to Nashville for a Predators game. On a sidenote, I know alot of people just aren't into hockey for whatever reason, but I'm telling you once you see one live it will totally change your mind! My Kyle has been studying hard for a while so it was nice for us to get to spend some time away from the books together. Overtime in hockey doesn't happen to often, and shoot-outs less often than that. We were fortunate enough to see both as well as a few fights, and what's a hockey game without a fight! (Unless it's your brother fighting, then it's not so cool to watch.) In between the 1st and 2nd period, they announced a special guest for entertainment: "Mr. Vince Gill everyone." Here are just a few pictures:

Things That Make Me Happy

That a 2 1/2 year old's painted piece of pottery can look so much better than mine:
Relaxing concerts with my man:
Fun dinners with fun friends:
Teaching sweet little girls how to be smart young ladies:

And seeing how happy I look these days (thanks Mike G at Starlife Studios for capturing):

The Six Sisters I Never Had...

This weekend, Kyle and I flew to Phoenix to meet my dad's side of the family to celebrate Poppy's 85th birthday party. Best weekend I have had in a long time. Hands down. The Wechsler/Nachum side of the family is beyond close. And I thank my parents and aunts and uncles for that. Our parents made it a point growing up to always get us together with our cousins. Whether it be celebrating birthdays or just spending a week during the summer at Gigi and Poppy's, it was very rare growing up that we didnt see each other at least once a year. And for us being spread out across the States (Phoenix, LA, Chicago, Raleigh, Charlotte, Memphis), that was pretty decent.

But since everyone began graduating high school, the visits have been few and far between. Breaks my heart. My sweet cousins are my sisters (well, except Alex who is like a little brother, he's the only boy besides my brother). Regardless of how long it has been since we've talked or seen each other, a midnight phone call to cry will always be answered. What a blessing it was to get to spend some MUCH needed quality time together, ALL of us!

How pretty is everyone....

And it's all thanks to them (Gigi, Poppy, Aunt Mindy, Uncle Cliff, and my dad)...

And after meeting my crazy and loud family, my sweet fiance still wants to marry me :)

Happy Birthday Poppy! And thank you for being the BEST Poppy ever, teaching us the best songs, never forgetting a birthday, loving us unconditionally, and ALWAYS taking the grandkids side :)

In other news, the madness starts this week. From now until the wedding, there is something for us to do EVERY weekend, whether it be for our wedding, celebrating other friends getting married, graduation, etc. June 19 will be here before we know it!

Hope everyone has a fabulous week!
